Well...my beloved ones at home...I am on the homestretch. By homestrech I really mean...home "stretch." There's so much that I still want to do that I know will be definitely left undone and it's that feeling of "unfinished work" that leads me to dread the day I will leave this beautiful place. I feel as though I really have to stretch my time in order to do what needs to be done before I embark on possibly the most difficult journey home. Since my last post I was blessed enough to visit the beautiful village of Matalangau where God truly stripped us of all our worldly tendencies so we can see the beauty in a simple life. In this Aeta village, amidst the no electricity, wide open washrooms, showers in the river, singing by the bonfire...the meaning of family and community took on a whole new meaning...
God has also blessed me with 5 beautiful sisters who I have had the priveledge to serve and live with during the past few months. Sisters I have laughed with, cried with, and even cooked with...my heart breaks at the thought that I would not be seeing them as often any more. "Sisterhood" takes on a whole new meaning...
Rhoda (Choconut), Cha (Peanut), Analou (Coconut)... The HOUSEMATES. And just for kicks, I was blessed enough to see a few friends who I have not seen in SOO long...and ok I get it, I'm dark.
Rex (soon to be Dr. Rex), Allan (we go WAY back), Cha (permanent vacation in the Phils), Rupert (Harry Potter).[MIA: Paolo - the photographer, Hizine, Walter, and Mark.] And...the beautiful children who have stolen my heart...
Chloe...my daughter.
Angel...my angel.
Julius, my "love team"... So many many many memories...
God has indeed blessed me with SO much here. Just when I thought I had reached my capacity in service and love, He shows me so much more. |
